  POLICIES

Please, do not expect us to call you back immediately should you have a question.

If you have an emergency, please state this to our staff, so they can direct you appropriately. If you ever have a question about emergencies, call 911 and go to a hospital.

For routine matters, please remember that we are surgeons, and are often in the operating room, so there may be delays in answering phone messages.

Prescription renewals take time. Please allow three business days at least. If you are taking medication for pain, please be careful to get your renewal early. We do not perform telephone prescriptions for DEA Class 2 narcotics. These prescriptions, as for major pain medications, must be written and are sent to you.

Privacy regulations forbid us from sending certain types of material to anyone but you. The regulations allow us to share clinical information with other providers without requiring you to fill out a form. However, we cannot share any information with non-medical entities (such as the gas company, your landlord) without a specific release form.

We must charge a nominal fee to have forms filled out for non-medical entities, such as disability insurance companies.
